About our organisation

The Soil Association, formed in 1946, is the only UK charity that works across the spectrum of human health, the environment and animal welfare. That's because we cannot tackle these issues in isolation.

We campaign for change, support farming innovation, serve healthy food in communities, champion and grow the organic market, and protect forests. We couldn't do any of this without our supporters, partners, donors and dedicated staff. We make a difference in the world where it's needed the most.

About the opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with experience in the farming industry and customer service delivery to join us as an office-based organic certification officer. You will have practical farming/growing experience, ideally with livestock, and you will have an understanding of the principles of organic food and farming and the certification processes involved.

About you

The successful candidate will hold a degree level or equivalent experience, ideally in an agricultural subject, be an excellent relationship builder, highly organised, flexible and have an awareness of the commercial demands on the farming businesses. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer literacy and a confident approach to service delivery and the ability to provide solutions within tight deadlines along with practical agricultural experience are essential.
